How Egypt got its name?

I think it was the Greeks & the Romans who called the land south of the Aegian Sea Aegyptos. So that is how that country came to be known as Egypt (or some variation of it) in Europeans languages. The land today is called Masr by the Egyptians who speak Egyptian Arabic today. In ancient Egypt the Land was called Kemet by the natives whose spoke Egyptian at that time. Egyptians modern successor Coptic calls the land Kimi.
