Teachers at the school were asked to take on additional roles, to save money. Carver was a great scientist, but a terrible administrator. He would become very angry and very pompous when he was either questioned about either paperwork he had completed, or asked to give a report. He would submit a letter of resignation each month, only to calm down and come back to work.
