Google Earth has imagery for every US city and state. The major cities tend to have more frequent updates due to demand. Street view has significant coverage across the Unites States in nearly every city.
Google Earth may need to be updated. street view photos are obtained by means of vans with big cameras on top. some areas do not allow access of these vehicles, while others are just not reached through other reasons.

New Google Earth satellite imagery is added approximately every 2 weeks or a twice a month. Street View imagery is updated on its own schedule. The same imagery that is added for Google Earth is available to Google Maps as well.
