I have 3850 French Francs given to me in 1937 Find out value in Euros

In 1932, the French franc was worth about four cents (25.46 to the American dollar or 3.92 cents). By 1939 and the start of WWII, the franc had shrunk to just about 2.5 cents. During and after the war, the franc was worth anybody's guess, what with Vichy money and American and British issued francs after the war. For comparison, the British pound in 1932 was worth roughly $5, so the franc was worth a bit less than 2 pence. (Remember, this was before metrification, so a british pound was worth 20 shillings and a shilling was worth 12 pence, so a pound was worth 240 pence.)
The United States paid 50 million francs (equal to $11,250,000 at the time) plus cancellation of debts worth 18 million francs (equal to $3,750,000 at the time). The total exchange was worth 15 million dollars, even though that isn't the amount that was exchanged. That seems like a lot, but since it was for 530,000,000 acres of land, it was actually amazingly cheap... about 4 cents an acre.
The Louisiana Territory had been a land purchase transaction by the United States of America of 828,800 square miles of the French territory "Louisiane" in 1803. The U.S. paid 60 million francs ($11,250,000) plus cancellation of debts worth 18 million francs ($3,750,000), a total cost of $15,000,000 for the Louisiana Territory.

Nothing, absolutely nothing. When I was a boy, just after the war, 1000 francs was 2 dollars; when the Euro came in, 10 francs was 2 dollars. Now, francs no longer exist as currency.
