Christ was chosen by His Father to come to earth in the pre existence. He knew exactly what His mission was. I have no doubt that there were times when the Holy Spirit was sent to Him to comfort Him in His times of trial and to give Him further instruction.

As a young person in Judea during the Roman occupation, Jesus would have been influenced by the Hebrew Scriptures and the collections of traditions and interpretations relating to those Scriptures. He would also have been influenced by the political and economic tensions of the occupation, and possibly by the Hellenic (Greek) philosophies that the Romans brought into the occupied territories.
Jesus only influences people who exhibit a desire to do the "Will of The Father in Heaven". He will not influence you against your will.
