No schizophenia cannot be caused by the foods you consume. Schizophenia is caused by a neaurlogical defeat and cannot only be discovered upon birth or later in life. It has absolutely nothing to do with food intake.

diagnosis can be subjective chances are if pt is perscribed depakote and anti psychotic meds the pt is schizoaffective ie having problems with schizophenia and mood. Often times signs and sx of schizophenia cause distress that depakote can help even out mood swings relatied to those s/sx. There are also other medical uses for depakote other than mental health.
