It varies from car to car. My Honda Insight gets about 37 MPG city and 54 MPG highway. Toyotas tend to get better city mileage than highway.
The latest model of the Chevy Cobalt is the 2010. The sedan model gets 24 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway with a combined mpg of 27. This is decent to good efficiency for a car.
Highway mpg is typically better than city mpg because driving at a consistent speed on the highway allows the engine to operate more efficiently, resulting in better fuel economy compared to the stop-and-go driving conditions in the city.
Hybrids perform better than gas cars. Most hybrids get at least 40 MPG (some get as much as 60 MPG) and are actually no more expensive to repair than a gas car. Seems worth it to me!
The Model T Ford would average around 17 mpg. But it was capable of getting as high as 25 mpg. Roads were horrible then and 17 mpg was about average, when driving on these roads. If you happen to find a nice stretch of paved flat road you could do much better.
It depends on what model. But the 2016 model has an average of 25 mpg.
depending on how fast you accelerate, you get worse/better mpg a slow acceleration produces better mpg than a faster acceleration.
Better performance and mpg.
Usually highway driving is where a car gets the most mpg.
Depending on whether you have a five-speed Evos or a six speed will determine which will give you better fuel economy. Ranging from 19 mpg city and 25 mpg highway compared to 18 mpg and 24 mpg with the six-speed. We averaged 21 mpg. We never got more than 280 miles on the car's small 14-gallon tank.
That depends entirely - on how many miles per gallon (mpg) you get from the vehicle ! For example - a car that gives 60 mpg would use less than a car that only gives 40 mpg !
Gas mileage, or MPG, depends upon who the car is being driven. A driver with a heavy foot on the throttle will achieve less MPG than a driver with a very light tough on the accelerator. Also, weather, road conditions and traffic have a huge bearing on gas mileage that can be achieved.
