You have one of the millions of fake dollar coins being produced in the Far East. It's barely worth the (cheap) metal it was made from.
At least yours is obviously a counterfeit; some are good enough to fool all but the best appraisers. Chinese counterfeiting is a very serious problem in today's coin marketplace, and there doesn't seem to be a good way for the governments to stop it. The best action right now is to beware, and be aware, when dealing with any older dollar-sized coin.

There are only a handful of genuine 1804 silver dollars known. The easiest test for a non-professional to do is just take it to a reputable coin dealer for an evaluation. Chances are, you've got a copy. Before you do this, look for a "COPY", "REPLICA", "R" or "C" stamped in the coin, if you've got one of those you have a fake without a doubt.

At the risk of sounding a bit snarky, the best way to tell if it's fake is to hold it in your hand. If it looks like an 1804 silver dollar, it's fake. The 1804 dollar is one of the most famous rarities in all of American coinage. All known specimens have been accounted for and are in museums or private collections. There are oceans of counterfeit ones on the market.
This question comes up a lot, but if you think you actually have the 20th known example of this coin you don't. Just take it to any coin dealer or collector for an assessment. The 1804 Dollar is likely the most reproduced US coin there is.
The value of this coin is actually quite high. Some people in the United States will buy the coin for upwards of $50,000.

Look for a seam along the rim edge of the coin which would mean is a casting and fake. Check the weight. An authentic coin should weigh 268.5 to 269.5 grams. Much lighter or heavier means fake.
