I don't believe that they understand it, I used to be a Catholic and I had a lot of questions they could not . The Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit bares witness to us that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live, they have bodys of flesh and bones and that they are two separate and distinct personages. If you pray about that the Holy Ghost will tell you that this is true.

Catholics are able to know the Holy Spirit through Pentecost.

Do Catholics believe that Father son and hOly ghost is one person?

I do not believe in the holy ghost, but I do believe in the Holy Spirit, that is because I know Him personally. To even mention the word ghost when referring to the Holy Spirit is a sin against my master who is the Holy Spirit. When using the word ghost you are referring to someone or thing that has lived and died. My master the Holy Spirit always was and always will be. As His apostle I am here to interpret Gods Words to mankind before their deaths so they can have the choice of salvation or damnation. More teachings of the Holy Spirit can be found on His website Holy Spirit of God .net God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are One God, and I have spoken to each one of Them vocally and have been answered back by Them vocally.

What do Christians believe the Holy Spirit is?

Well, every kind of Christian believes in the holy spirit. If you're referring to "in the the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit" mostly Catholics do that. I think some other religions do that too though!Another answerTrinitarian Christians believe that the Holy Spirit is a Person who is the third member of the Godhead (also know as the Trinity). They believe He is spirit (i.e. not physical). He has several roles. He is omnipresent and works to touch people's hearts and bring them back to God. He also makes our prayers more effective by expressing for us what we cannot put into words. Jesus called Him "the Spirit of Truth," among other names.

What Do Confirmation means to other people?

I do not know what your view of confirmation is. Confirmation allows you to be filled with the holy Spirit and to be guided by it. This could mean less sinning and being able to evangelize through the power of the Holy Spirit. It makes you a full member of the Church and makes you more committed to the Church.

Is god a sprit or a person?

To be honest we don't know if God is a person but people say he is a spirit because of the holy Trinity (The Father, the son and holy spirit.) I guess we will never really know until we die.

How was the holy spirit important to the growth of the early christian church?

John 15:26-16:15 tells the function of the Holy Spirit, He: 1. Reveals Christ 2. Bring conviction is regards to sin and righteousness 3. Lead us into all truth 4. Speak God's words to us 5. Make us able to know God. The bible, in various places, talks about him giving us the power to live Holy lives, and to be is witnesses. All of these functions of the Spirit were incredibly important to the early church, without he Holy Spirit the early church would have been a historical blip that never made it out of the 1st century. The Holy Spirit is just as important to us today, the church can not survive without the work of the Holy Spirit, in fact the bible is clear that apart from the work of the Holy Spirit not a single person would ever be able to come to Christ (John 6:44

Does the Holy Spirit exist?

There is currently no scientific way to determine the answer to this. It depends on your faith and your skepticism. Many people do believe they exist although no one can know for sure. Investigations have taken place, some say they do, some say they don't. We will never know for sure but those who seek comfort in what they believe should not be judged.
