A chipmunk adapts to the environment by... * Their coloring will help them blend in with the ground * Chipmunks hibernate but instead of storing fat they keep a big supply of food * Because they are small, they can scurry along and can run away from predators * In summer and spring they will live in trees * In fall and winter they will make a home in the ground These all help them survive in the wild. However there is one major thing, that is they will eat almost anything. Being so picky will cut down on food and will make it harder to find it. But, they will just come upon their food if you are not.
