How are coal and oil made?
coal and oil are made by animals
Three types of fossil fuels are coal, oil, and natural gas (: coal gas and oil Coal, Natural Gas, Oil Coal, Oil, Natural Gas Coal, Petroleum(Crude Oil) and Natural Gas. Oil, coal, gas. Coal does not get refined. Oil gets refined, but coal gets used as it is when it comes out of the coal mine. There is a process called coal gassification by which natural gas can be made from coal, but that is not really a form of refining, and in any event, most coal is simply burned, it is not gassified.
Coal is made from thick layers of accumulated plant matter that have been incorporated into a sedimentary sequence and lithified as they are buried. Coal remains as a layer of solid, organic rock and has to be mined. Oil is made from many individual microscopic organisms that are continuously accreted into sediments as they accumulate. With oil the burial and heating process transforms and mobilised the organic material which then migrates, along the pores in…
"Synthetic motor oil" is made from petrochemicals (petroleum distillates) that are altered to provide superior lubrication or endurance as compared to standard mineral oils. "Synthetic fuels" are created from fossil fuels (coal, gas, oil) or from biomass, using complex chemical reactions to create various molecular configurations. The earliest synfuels included methanol, and liquids made using coal gas and hydrogen.
