That said, I know many people believe in ghosts or spirits, and in literature, authors have used these mythical characters in a number of ways. Sometimes, they are depicted as delivering a warning-- they refuse to let a person live comfortably in a home where a murder has taken place, and continually manifest their presence until the murder is finally solved. Or they can be evil spirits who refuse to let a home be occupied and will protect the home out of respect for a dead ancestor. And now and then, as in the 1990 hit movie "Ghost," they protect the good person from wicked people who are trying to do harm. But in reality, there is no relationship between ghosts and unsolved murders except in fictional TV shows and scary movies.
