Fold moutains are actually formed by crust which have been uplifted and folded by compressional forces. This occurs along convergent plate boundaries where 2 plates move towards each other, between continental plates or between an oceanic and a continental plate. The crust and the rocks get bent and crumpled, and massive layers of Earth's crust gets uplifted as a result, forming spectacular fold mountains.
More well-know examples of fold mountains are the Himalayas in Asia and the Andes in South America.
Most mountains happen when the plates in the earth move in a convergent boundary. A convergent boundary is when the plates move toward each other and a lot of the time, the earths crust pushes up to form new mountains and volcanoes. There are also a lot of earthquakes when the plates start to move toward each other.
1 way is that when earthquakes happen plates collide and theypush each other upward

It is known as subduction, where one plate is force downwards into the mantle.
By water and the sheer weight of the glacier carving mountains as it slides down.
Describe two ways mountains can be formed ?
Two Ways to Fall was created on 1996-09-17.
two continential plates
they where formd by vaclanos and dirt
Well, there are two ways to look at it. Valleys are merely the absence of mountains, right? But mountains and valleys are created in the same process, which is the crumpling of the Earth's crust by tectonic plates. You can see how this works by pushing against the blanket on your bed. Little hills and valleys will be created in the direction you're pushing.

When two lithosphere plates collide they crumple and push up, forming mountains also causing earthquakes.
