~I know a lot about both instruments because I have been fortunate enough to play both of them. I have played Flute for 4 1/2 years and the piccolo for 6 months. Hope these help with your question:
Similarities:~They both have the same fingerings even though one is considerably smaller than the other.~They have the same style head joint.
Differences:~The flute is three pieces and the piccolo is only 2.~The piccolo is way higher pitched than the flute.
~I can not even stick my pinky into the end of a piccolo and I have very small fingers.
~You have to have more air support on the piccolo than you have to on the flute. You have to blow harder to get a sound out of a piccolo.
Hope this helped you out!! :)Piccolo is a different instrument than the flute.
it would be piccolo if it is considered in the flute family.
The name of a mini flute instrument is called a piccolo.
piccolo
The piccolo has the highest pitch, then the standard flute, and then alto.
flute
piccolo has a higher pitch than the flute. Piccolo and flute have the same fingerings and notes it just sounds like the piccolo is playing a higher note but they arent
The piccolo is higher than the flute! :)
as a matter of fact, the piccolo is higher in sound then the flute! its amazing how such a little instrument can produce a high sound!!!
A piccolo plays the higher note over the flute, because the Piccolo's small size can leed to a high pitch, and is designed to have a shorter stem, so it's not just a small flute, so it is way higher than the flute. --By exactly one octave. They do also have the same fingerings.
Nope! It's the same fingerings as the flute, if you know how to play flute, you can play piccolo.
The piccolo is higher pitched than the flute.
