Plants are able to stand upright thanks to the turgor pressure in the cells. The large central vacuole in the plant cells are able to take up water and makes the cell more rigid and the overall plant erect.

I think plants are able to stand up because, as part of their cell, the cell wall plays a massive part in the plants growth.  The cell wall also offers protection to the parts inside the plant cell.  But last, the cell wall is what keeps a plant upward

They aren't. It's just that the support for some of them is internal (in the form of rigid cell walls composed of cellulose).
