They have solar panels that turn sunlight into electrical energy, which it stores in a battery, but some of it is used right after changing the light into electrical energy in order to maintain the satellite.

Do the green transformer boxes ever stop working and when the electrical company closes for the day do they shut off the transformer boxes?

No. Transformers remain energised permanently and are only disconnected for maintenance. If the company were to shut off the transformer, then you would lose the electricity supply to your property. An energised transformer normally hums, which is usually an indication that it is energised, however you should ALWAYS assume that a transformer is energised and never interfere with it.

What is a 132 KV line isolator?

An isolator (disconnector in US terminology) is a switch designed to isolate a section of line afterthat line has been de-energised using a circuit breaker, allowing maintenance work to be carried out on the de-energised section. It's function is to provide a visual break between an energised line and a section of de-energised line and, therefore, is usually one of a pair (one at opposite ends of the de-energised section).Isolators are generally not designed to break load currents (and definitly NOT fault currents!!), so the line must be de-energised using a circuit breaker before the isolator is opened, and the isolator must be closed before the circuit breaker is then used to reclose the line.

What is the purpose of a phase conductor?

There is no such thing as a 'phase conductor'; the correct term is 'line conductor'. In a single-phase system, the line conductor is the energised conductor; in a three-phase system, there are three (energised) line conductors.
