The mating of snakes is a tricky process. The male has two penile growths called "hemipenes" these hemipenes are the male snakes penis. If one is injured for any reason then the other is used. When snakes mate, they intertwine and line up their cloaca's (the only scale that allows access to the inside of the body), the male then inserts his hemipene and copulation comenses. Sperm and egg are essentially the same in snakes as they are in humans with the exception that one male fertilizes many different eggs in the female.
Once copulation has occured and the female is pregnant (gravid) she will find a place to either lay eggs or give birth depending on the species of snake. If a female python is gravid she will seek out a large mulch patch or soft ground in which she can dig and create a den. She will then lay her eggs which exit the body through the cloaca and curl around them, shivering ocassionally to keep the eggs warm and she will also protect them at any cost. A female boa constrictor will find a secluded place several months after copulation and over the course of many hours will give birth to live young which she disperses imediately and then has no further contact with. However, a female kingsnake, cornsnake, ratsnake, or other colubrid species will find a suitable area to lay her eggs. After she has done this she will lay them and leave them with no parental supervision whatsoever. The one thing that all snakes have in common is that after they are born they are on their own. They instinctively know how to hunt and how to survive right after birth.

snakes can be born in eggs or have live young
As any other snake, these snakes are born from eggs.
all snakes are born when the mother snake lays the eggs with the baby snakes in them and then the snakes hatch out of the eggs. Edit: Not ALL snakes lay eggs - some give birth to live young.
Yes. Because lots of people are terribly frightened of snakes, most of the time those people kill the snakes. If you don't kill snakes, snakes could kill you, and especially the python and cobra snakes. If they strangle you, you will die. That's why it is fair to kill snakes.
