In alot of ways, the systems share:

A bicameral legislature, composed largely the same way

The Separation of powers

The Division of powers

The systems differ fundamentally in the Executive side of things, in the US the executive (Ie. the President and Cabinet) is seperate from the Legislature, whereas in Australia the Executive is drawn from the legislature.

Does Australia have any involvement in the US?

Australia was (and to some point might still be) the only nation on earth that was like the US "used to be like." Visiting Australia in 1970 would be like entering a time machine and visiting America (the US) in 1930. Australia was a wonderful early America back in the Vietnam War days. Partly for this reason, many movie makers from the US go to Australia to make films. Canada will do, but Australia is not as frozen as Canada, and has climate (for film making scenes) similar to America (US).

Does Google Australia only give information about Australia?

Moving from US to Australia and would like to take shop tools which are 220v us but Australia is 50hz and US is 60 hz is there anyway to make this work thanks?

There sure is. Visit an electronics shop like Dick Smith Electronics or Auslec and grab yourself a stepdown transformer. This will allow you to use your US equipment here in Australia. They retail for around AU$150 depending on the wattage that's needed. Have fun in Australia, mate.

Why do you say the US but not the Australia?
