How are east China and west China different?

the western China is poorer and of a harsh climate. Most of the prosperous cities are in eastern China, including Beijing, Shanghai. The climate is mild in Eastern China, and the people are more cultivated, most of them are literate.

In western China, many families are too poor to afford their children to go to school.

China has broad coastal plains and large rivers with large and fertile deltas. These have a substantial impact on the agriculture of China. The rest of East Asia have less suitable irrigation with waterways that are more direct and limiting with less easily arable land.
