There are two. They are called the Coastal Plains and the Great Plains.
Tipis were mostly used in the Great Plains of the United States and the Prairie Provinces of Canada. The Plains Indians were nomadic (moving from place to place), so they needed homes that could be taken down and packed quickly, moved easily, and reconstructed quickly once they reached the new area.

The Great Plains is an area located in the middle part of the United States. Great Plains states include Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado. They are called the Great Plains because of their areas of vast open prairie areas.
There are Central Plains in Wisconsin and in Texas. But the Wisconsin Central Plains, as well as the Northern Plains (part of the Great Plains) are included in the tall-grass "Prairie Plains" of the Midwest.
