Veterans Day and Memorial Day are the two in the US. July 4th is also used to recognize them.
Word Wars I and II were perceived by the public as wars with a rightful cause of US participation and the veterans were greeted as heroes. But the Vietnam war was controversial in its nature and a lot of public did not support it. This had a dramatic effect on veterans public image, who were not held in high regards as their predecessors have been.

Because they served in the army. They're no more heroes than people serving now, but they have a day to recognize them. I would much prefer to honor the people that served and aren't here to celebrate, but the world doesnt work like that

Because we must show respect and honor the military soldiers that gave us their lives. In every year people cried because they're losing heroes that's why we celebrate Veterans day in every year and we should not make fun of the soldiers.
