Your question can be rephrased as two linked question. "How does climate affect patterns of heating and cooling?" and "How do mountains and bodies of water affect climate?" The answer to the first should be obvious to you. The second is not really an HVAC question.

Winds generally come from different directions depending where you are on the planet. The equator to 30oN the wind blows from the north east. The equator to 30oS the wind blows from the south east.30oN to 60oN the wind blows from the west.30oS to 60oS the wind blows from the west.if you are further than 60o North or South, the wind blows from the pole.a diagram that illustrates why winds blow this way is linked here.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Earth_Global_Circulation.jpgOcean currents have no general flow, there are two different types, surface and deep ocean currents. Surface currents are linked here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ocean_surface_currents.jpgThe thermohaline current is a current that circulates warm water and cool water (thermo) as well as differently concentrated salt waters (haline)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Thermohaline_Circulation_2.png

Clearly, they are both directly linked to the earth's climate, but in different ways. Without the sun there would be no climate at all that could sustain human life. The tidal movements caused by our relationship with the moon help to drive ocean currents that affect our climate, and the moon plays a major role in stabilizing our axial tilt. Perhaps I'm not getting your idea of 'directly', but these links and others are direct enough for me. We can put it this way. It might take a while for the sudden 'disappearance' of the moon to have its effect, but if we had never obtained our moon, the climate we enjoy would never have come about. Probably, neither would we.
