Answer: It isn't.

Racism itself does not involve hatred. Extremist racist however DOES involve hatred and is therefore commonly thought of as a bad thing.

Personally, I believe it is important to find out "why" someone is racist rather than emarginating them because of their legitimate beliefs.

Answer: Racism is bad because of how it can lead one human being to act toward another of a different race; it will more than likely be in a negative manner which can escalate into outright violence.
