They can be 1/8 inch diameter and 1/2 inch long up to 1 inch by 6 inch depending on what they are protecting. Screw in are all the same size but different amps. Flat plug in ones for cars can be 1/2 inch square up to 1 inch square for main fuses.
Under hood. Open fuse box. There are small relays and big relays. It is the big relay fuse closest to the outside of the vehicle. There should be a map under the fuse cover.

Check the back of the fuse panel to make sure your putting the proper fuse in. But do NOT put a fuse to big in. So if your fuse panel calls for a 15 amp fuse, replace with 15 amp fuse.
