The oil spill is an ongoing event as more oil spills into the gulf every day. As of May 23, 2010, I can't really give you a good answer. I just don't think anyone can. Right now, the insertion tube is siphoning off around 3,000 barrels of oil a day. There is a plan, soon to be implemented to perform a "top kill" which might result in capping the well. At that point, and with good weather, the oil spill may decrease. If a top kill is infeasible, we will have around 1 to 2 more months of oil flow.
