The batteries may not be in correctly.
who says you can't? I replaced the stereo myself on my 93 ford explorer with an aftermarket stereo with no problem.
Yes it can you just have to buy a vehicle specific adapter. This will also work going from a double din stock stereo to a single din aftermarket stereo
It is not the stereo. Behind the stereo there is a relay switch for the turn signals. It is going out and needs to be replaced. Autozone has the part about $30-$40
Check the stereo fuses and all wiring connections for any problems. If the wiring and fuses are ok then it is an internal problem and the stereo will need to be replaced.
I had the same problem in my 97 LS Coupe. I changed out the antenna and that didn't resolve the problem. I replaced the stereo with an after market stereo and the problem was resolved.
In my experience, Bay Car & Home Entertainment is the best place to buy a car stereo in San Francisco.
yes you need to pull stereo out & you will see the fuse in the wiring harness. Do not have wiring harnesss in front of me but it was either the yellow or red wires. Just replaced my stereo.

Cross check the stereo's wiring and size specifications with the stereo information from the car's manual and/or the manufacturer. This is to ensure that the stereo and the car are compatible. Also, make sure that the stereo has the features you want. Some stereos only have CD inputs; some stereos have an auxiliary input that is mainly targeted at MP3 players.
