Here are some good ways to try and find your little dog:

• Put the ad in the paper on the weekend giving a full description, name of dog. It is more expensive to put it in on the weeked, but more people read the newspaper on weekends.
• Put posters up on lamp standards or ask store owners and vets if you can put a notice up (most will agree.) BE SURE YOU HAVE A PICTURE OF YOUR LITTLE DOG TO GO ON THE POSTER. If you can afford it place a reward. Some dogs are stolen to sell to people for money for drugs or alcohol and we are going through this in British Columbia, Canada.
• DO NOT phoned the ASPCA or Animal Shelters because often they can overlook or not know the breed of the dog (this has happened to me.) If you can't do this, then at least phone.
• Get friends and family to help you look for your dog if it's recently been lost and call out the dogs name. Look in parks, playgrounds as some dogs love to go there. Go to familiar places you have been with your dog.

I do hope with all my heart your get your little pet dog back and when you do please take your dog to the vets and get a micro chip put in under their skin (all my pets, even the cat has one.) This means if your dog is lost again you will find it more quickly because the ASPCA or Animal Shelters have to scan dogs for the ID. There is still hope of finding your dog. I had a Min Pin once (male) who suddenly left without reason and he was gone for two months and I did everything to try to find him and came to the conclusion he was lost forever. One night I was sitting in my basement suite with a friend and a scratching came to the door. There was my Mickey! He stunk to high heaven and it was evident to me he'd had one heck of a vacation with a pack of other dogs. Of course I had to bath him right away. He never strayed after that.
