What is accounts payable aging report?

An accounts payable aging report is a list of amounts owed to creditors (people you owe money to) and this list shows how overdue the debt is. The report tells you whether the debt is current, 30 days overdue, 60 days overdue, 90 days overdue, etc.

Can collection agencies report the same dept more than once and for different amounts to the credit bureaus?

No. You have to put in a dispute saying that the two are the same debt and that there reported for two different amounts. The credit bureau will dispute it for you and have it fixed. The company in most states has 30 days to respond with the correct information. And then the incorrect information will be removed. If they don't respond at all to the credit bureau in 30 days the credit bureau will remove them both completely from your credit report. It is a win win situation.

What do you do if you have an overdue account?

Where an overdue account showing on your file has been paid but not updated, call the credit provider and request they contact the credit agency to make the correction. Your file will be updated within five days of the credit provider notifying them that the account is paid.Where an overdue account is showing that is not yours call the credit provider and give them the applicable reference number so they can investigate. If justified, the credit provider will then inform the credit file company and the incorrect data will be removed. In cases where you are disputing an overdue account with a credit provider, full details of the dispute can be forwarded to the credit agency they use. This action allows for the entry on the credit file to be marked 'disputed' until the matter is resolved.Sometimes you may have innocently forgotten to pay an account. Some people find themselves in the situation of finding out they have a default on their file from a phone connection that was in their name many years ago, and they have since moved out leaving the co-renters or new tenants with the phone connected. If they do not pay the account and the connection is still in your name; you are still responsible for the payment of the account. Many people find themselves short of money, and simply can not afford to pay the account, and then forget about it, and ignore the 'overdue' letters that come. You may be unaware that the creditor has listed a default against you, and when you next apply for a loan you may be declined because of it. The sooner you pay the default and have it listed as paid, the healthier your credit file will be.

Does it matter credit wise after a car is repossessed whether you pay off the balance immediately or let bank auction and settle the difference?

Nope and it doesn't matter if it is a voluntary or involuntary repossion. Once the first payment is overdue by 30 days it automatically goes on you credit report as an overdue payment and then once the car is reposessed it goes on your credit and makes NO note to why it was taken back or whether you gave it back and even if you pay the amount off it is still on your credit for 7 years

Can a finance company threaten to repossess car?

Yes, depending on the state in which the vehicle is domiciled and the loan is originated. In general, if after thirty (30) days a payment is not made on a vehicle then a finance company may notify the borrower that they are going to reposess the car. For customers with good credit, the threats do not come until after sixty (60) or ninety (90) days. For customers with historically poor credit, the threats will come as soon as possible (30 days).
