You already can see he is merle. Unless you are color blind I dont understand the nature of the question since with all respect a good look at the dog and you will see the color. One good recomendation is to take a good look and search in pitbull sites to find one with the same color and read what color the breeder says the dog is.
Merle is not a color seen in purebred American Pit Bull Terriers or American Staffordshire Terriers. So any "pit bull" of this color is a mixed breed with a merle carrying breed (often Catahoula in the case of pit mixes) having been crossed in. This said, yes a brindle and merle breeding has the potential of producing 50% merle puppies and 50% non-merle. Brindle to merle may also produce a combination pattern of brindled merles.
First of all you need to have an american pitbull terrier that carries the merle gene, and there is no way of knowing if a pitbull carries the gene unless the merle pattern is displayed on it's coat or you have the blood line record, the reason is because the merle gene is receive. If you don't have the blood line record then you absolutely need one of the parents to be merle and it doesn't matter if it's a red, chocolate, or blue merle and the other parent needs to be blue and you will produce blue merles. Of course if you have a blue merle and a blue you will produce more blue merles but if you have a red or chocolate merle and a blue you will not produce as many blue merles. Typically a breeding pair that has one of the parents being merle will produce an average of about three merles per litter, that is what my females have produced out of breeding with my red merle male three to four merles per litter. Remember you can not breed two merles together because you will produce dogs with defects.

You will get the same breed you started with an American Pitbull Terrier. If you are referring to what color you would get, then you should look at a breeding color chart. Breeding for color in a pitbull or any breed is not responsible. You should also consider things such as family ancestory, and defects within each dog. But if both are good solid lines, then breed away. Just make sure you know what you are doing, and make sure you are making a positive impact to the breed.
