You don't have to listen to American radio any English speaking radio will do.
However trying to learn English from radio or TV is not ideal because the language is often not standard language and people usually speak too fast. It would be better to find a good channel on You Tube that is designed for language learners. There you will find short lessons designed for someone learning a language and you can pick lessons where the language will be at the appropriate level.
There is a website called italki where you can arrange times to talk to a native speaker via skype but I think this costs money.
