That depends - on whether you can support yourself financially once you're here ! You cannot claim income support unless you've contributed to the welfare system by paying tax. You cannot take a job that can be done by a UK citizen. Therefore your only option (unless you have a 'special' skill that's in demand here) is sponsorship by someone who lives and works in the UK. They must agree to fund your stay here until you're able to support yourself. The UK is no longer the 'freeloader' country it used to be (thank goodness !).
