training a parakeet takes practice and patience. it took me 4 months to fully train mine but if your willing to put in the extra time it can be fun. First get them used to human skin put your hand in or on the side of your cage. After doing this for 1-2 weeks you can take the parakeet out of the cage. Gently scoop it out with a towel then place it in your lap it may fly off your lap a few times but eventually it will stay on. Once it is able to stay in one spot try to take your finger and put pressure on it's belly it will place it's feet on your finger while it is on your finger it may peck at you a few times this does not mean that you've done something wrong it is just feeling around you are it's new favorite perch the more you take it out the longer it will stay on your finger.
train it like any other dog. type in to youtube for training tips :)
I think so- I have a love bird and I see that it will mate with any other bird -parakeet included. However I am not sure if they will lay eggs or if the eggs laid will be fertilized. The genome differrence of the two should be considered and may be that will provide the right answer
well u can not train any bird to talk rather then the parte and the only way to do that is to say the word u want it to now like your name. you will have to say it a bunch of times and when i get the hang of it then you say it any time you want and it will say it back but it wont say it when it wants to you have to repeat it to them and to train it you can not train a bird it will not listen because they are very stubborn animal's
Oh! I asked this question myself when i got my parakeet! You can very easily tell how old your parakeet is, just by looking at the lines on it's head. You must estimate though. There is no exact way of knowing how old your parakeet is unless you watch it hatch. If the black lines on a parakeet's head are very very close to it's beak, it is a very young bird. As the bird gets older, the lines on its head by its beak seem to disappear. if there are lines on the back of a parakeets head, expect it to die soon. Parakeets don't live that long.
If your female parakeet pecks at you when you pet your male this probably just means that she is feeling protective of the male this does not mean that she likes you any less this is in fact a very good sign.
Lutino (not "Latino," that is a human ethnic group) ring-necked parakeets are not a species. Ring-necked parakeet can refer to any of several species in the genus Psittacula. A lutino is a bird that has a genetic mutation that has removed all of the bird's black pigment. They are yellow or white in places where the normal bird is green or blue. They will build their nests the same way as a normal colored bird. It's not possible to answer the question unless the exact species is known.
Your bird could be suffering any number of ailments, from a cage mate who is plucking it, to French moult. If you have ruled out that another bird is plucking the feathers, take it to an avian veterinarian to help uncover the cause.
almost any bird can come out of it's cage if you train it and are affectionate. visit oodle.com/sale/pet/bird/ i found a pair of African greys for free

Yes. In they're natural habitat, parakeets are food for any carnivore and any bird of prey that lives where they do. As pets in a protected environment, the parakeet a different set of predators, but they are all still there! Keep your parakeet away from cats, dogs, larger birds and any other potentially meat eating creature. Because they are not well protected, small and not super smart, parakeets make a nice snack for a large variety of other animals.
Unless you are talking about a video game with a parakeet character, parakeets get just one life like any other organism.
