McCain is not running on a small government platform. If he was, he would not be proposing $300 million cash prizes for an improved automobile battery - something the industry is already working on. He would drop the environmentalism. There is no authority in the Constitution that grants the Federal Government the right to combat climate change. Also, he would support private property rights. And he would support civil liberties, since the government expands as it takes our liberties away.
His excuse might be that he is a "maverick." Maybe he thinks the bailout is the only option to save the economy. But if his rival for the presidency, along with the current president, both support the bailout, I fail to see how also supporting and voting for the bailout qualifies as being a "maverick."
He would do anything in his power to save America's economy. This contributor feels that Barack Obama's remarks about the $700 billion bailout were positive but incorrect.
No
he is so gay we have no clue what his platform is
He loves government spending. He voted "yes" to the 700 BILLION dollar entitlement to predatory lenders, the biggest government giveaway in history.
$3.48 billion
They both claim to want to fix the economy, but neither have a good plan to do it. They both voted for the bailout, or B.O.M.B. (Bush Obama McCain Bailout), which has done nothing to help the economy. In fact the bail out is going to hurt the economy much more than it will ever help. Only Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin have good solid plans to fix the economy.
Both Obama and McCain support the bailout. I have no information on the lesser known parties. Anyone with information on these parties should add to this answer.
McCain is a hero who did all for his nation in combat and in government. It was a privilege for the nation to have a chance to vote for him.
A freeze on government spending
McCain is for smaller government, less government spending, drilling for oil, winning the war in Iraq. He is against gun control laws, abortion, spreading the wealth and raising anyone's taxes.
