If they're not looking for your meds and you're not taking any other drugs, or if they know you were prescribed the drug you're coming up positive for, you'll come up clean. Let's say you're on Valium, which is a benzodiazepine. Benzos show up on a benzo test, but not on a THC test, an opiate test or any other test. If they test for benzos and know you've been prescribed them, they'll see that line on your test and think, "he's been prescribed that, it's supposed to be there, all is serene."

You probably should list all of the medications you are taking when having a pre-employment drug screen done. Some medications show up on drug screens and if they know you are taking the meds, there may not be embarrassing questions later.

no!The only way you could still have a possibility of getting the job once failing a drug screen, would be for you to produce prescriptions for whatever meds you failed the test for.
Some employers do ask for a list of your medications, if you have to take a drug screen test you will want them to know your meds, incase they show up in the test.
There are drug "seekers" who go around to different doctors to get prescription meds they're addicted to.
