Breast milk has the antibodies to viruses that the mother has had or been vaccinated for. Babies who eat breast milk will have the same immunity as their mothers. This is important because a baby is not born with a fully functioning immune system

∙ 8y agoNo. Measles kiled thousands of children through the centuries. Walk through a very old cemetery and read the headstones of the children. You will find most are below 5 years old and diseases killed them. We are very lucky to have the medical science we have today, and it is ridiculous to allow old diseases to return and kill children once again.

∙ 7y agoA baby is born with some immunity through mother's blood. If the mother nurses, the baby gets added immunity against SOME common ailments IF the mother herself was exposed or was vaccinated. But without nursing, the maternal-blood immunities are short-lived.
