How young a teen are we talking about? At any age, just put a pen or pencil in your dominant hand, place the business end of it on a piece of paper (alternatively, fire up the old PC or MAC and plug in the keyboard), put your other hand on a rock, look up into the sky and announce: I AM AN AUTHOR!! Another way to become an author: You need a writers' block first. (Hint: not available in stores)

It's not easy to write a book, but if you want to become an author, you'll keep working until you've done it.
