A new predator can make a species go extinct because the species does not have any natural defenses against them. A new predator can rise rapidly and then decline because they decimated their prey population.
Competition refers to 2 species who live together in the same area and are competing with one another for food, water or shelter If the newly introduced species is stronger than the other species, it then turns into survival of the fittest. Which ever species can get to the food, water of shelter first wins and the other species dies.
Hope that helped :)
This depends on the size of the new habitat.
Maybe the prey will be able to sustain a large enough population so that future generations will be born.
If the predator kills for fun, then its prey will possibly be an extinct species within years.
Regards.
The introduced species can out compete the native species and so can crowd them out. There just isn't enough for the native species to eat, grow and reproduce.
Species reintroduction is the process of releasing animals back into their historical range where they have become locally extinct. This is done in order to re-establish a population and help restore balance to the ecosystem. Reintroduction programs are typically carefully planned and monitored to ensure the success of the released individuals.
It is true that endemic species face relatively high risks of extinction. An endemic species refers to a species that is restricted or native to a particular area or country.
The difference between native and non-native species is that native species are from that area and non-native species are not from that area.
Intentional introduction of invasive species is when non-native plants and/or animal life is brought into an area it did not originate in, usually with detrimental results for the environment or ecosystem.
A species that "belongs" in a particular area, as you put it, is called a native species. I am sure that animals who find themselves in a non-natural habitat are called a non-native species, an invasive species, or introduced species. The introduction of some species into new environments can have devastating results - this is because the invasive species can eradicate necessary native species that are necessary to support a healthy ecosystem.
An alien species is a species that is not native to an area. An exotic species is native to an area but not common.
This can basically be defined as the introduction of a foreign species into an area which it is not native to.These foreign species may deprive the native species of food, habitat and some times prey on them.Causing them to become extinct.Humans are usually responsible for biotic pollution.
Extinction.
A species that does not normally live in an area
A native species originated from that area while an exotic species came from somewhere else.
Extinction is when a species is completely gone from everywhere on Earth. Extirpation is when a species is completely gone from one area, but still exists in other parts of the world.
Yes. If a certain area has a group of animals living in a compact space, that species could become extinct easily. Also, a tsunami could cover a large area, harming species and the food chain which could later lead to extinction.
