u'll find a tab or slider on that removable disk (a memory card for example) it will be write protected if that slider or tab thingy is pointing towards the lock side...if u don't find such thing reply back ;)
Yes, if the removable disk is connected to your computer then it will be infected.
First look for any mechanical device on the removable disk which is used to prevent writing to it. This may be in the form of a slide switch or a piece of tape covering a notch on the removable disk. Once you have taken care of this, change the attributes of all files including system and hidden files so that "write" is enabled. Now you should be able to delete all files. Another short cut is to reformat the disk (after you take care of the mechanical device).
The first removable disk appeared in 1962. IBM created it for its IBM 311 drive, and it was called the IBM 1316 disk pack.

A "diskette" or "floppy disk" is neither as they are removable magnetic storage media. However, if you refer to the drives that read from them or write to them, then those drives are considered hardware.
A backup to a removable disk.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PERMANENT HARD DISK DRIVE AND A REMOVABLE HARD DISK DRIVE A permanent drive is in housed in the system while the removable one is externally fixed. Basically they perform the same functions.
Since the hard disk drive uses the same data bus as the removable disk drive(s), it is usually installed adjacent to the removable disk (CD-ROM) drive(s).
