The Apostle Paul developed a powerful argument that has led many realists to believe in God. He said: “[God’s] invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship.” (Romans 1:20) Paul could see the beauties of creation, the wondrous variety of life and the awesome starry heavens, and in them discern some of the qualities of the one who created them. Modern science helps us to see how intricately designed natural things are, what power and wisdom were necessary to bring them into existence. Hence, in some ways the natural world today gives an even more powerful witness to the existence of God.

In its strictest sense, human reason will never acknowledge the existence of God. It will explain away all actions and things according to that which can be scientifically measured. It is only when a person's reasoning allows him to grasp the idea that the greater realities of life (such as love) surpass human measurement that he will consider the existence of God. It is then that he can begin to make the distinction between divine knowledge and natural knowledge.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James 3:17

A continued quest to understand the greater realities of life will reveal to the searcher that natural knowledge can be analyzed whereas spiritual knowledge is ascertained. His discovery will be that it is only by spiritual reasoning that one can appreciate the perfection of God, the perfection of Jesus Christ, and the perfection of God’s words as originally inspired in the Holy Bible. His journey will culminate in a detailed study of the perfection of God's Word.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. II Timothy 2:15

Several philosophical propositions have been put forward, to prove the existence of God by reason alone. The most important of these are the ontological argument, the cosmological argument and the teleological argument. All fail because they have been shown to be unsound arguments.

I really don't think it can. A line can't rise above the plan that defines it. We can EXPERIENCE God for ourselves, though, and that is the rational thing to do.

Where is it stated that you are born knowing God?

There is no "statement that you are born knowing God." Simply, reason tells the human mind that there is Something/Someone Who is of greater intellect than we humans. We humans cannot create something from nothing. On the other hand, God can. Therefore, this thing, called natural reason, which every human possesses, tells us of God's existence. Yet, this means that though we know of God's existence, but we do not know God. Not unless we allow Him to speak to us and we ourselves search to find Him. So no one is born "knowing God," but through natural reason we know He exists. To deny His existence, no offense to all atheists, is really to deny the existence of everything around us.

What theory maintains that the universe exist and appears for some reason and is an argument for the existence of god?

The theory that maintains that the universe exists for a reason and argues for the existence of God is known as the teleological argument or the argument from design. This argument posits that the intricate design and complexity observed in the universe suggest the existence of an intelligent designer, which is often equated with God.

What is Augustine's proof of God's existence?

At first, St. Augustine considered that the existence of God should simply be taken for granted. It was regarded as a matter so self-evident that a proof of God's existence would be entirely superfluous. He subsequently proposed an ontological argument to prove his case. Augustine began by proving that human reason exists, something with which no one could argue. He then asked his listener to accept that if he can prove there is something greater than human reason, that it must be God. This was a weak point in his argument and, unless the listener agreed, Augustine could not continue. Augustine would then point out the mathematical truth that seven plus three equals ten, arguing that this is true, whether or not human reason exists. Therefore there is something out there, some truth, which is greater than human reason. The statement is true, not because we say it is, but because it is a truth that exists in this world and that truth must come from somewhere. Since this truth is greater than human reason, and does not depend on us to be true, there must be a God.
