∙ 14y agoIt sounds like you might be referring to inside a man's shirt collar. The only way to keep a collar from discoloring permanently is to treat it each time you wash it. You can either use a pre-treating product (like Shout or a stain stick) or, before you put it in the washer, apply a little of your detergent (if you use dry, add a little water to make a paste) to the affected area of the collar and rub with a small brush (an old toothbrush will work). If you opt to use the second suggestion, be careful not to brush too hard as this will prematurely wear out the fabric.
