There aren't any real get-rich-quick schemes short of actually playing the game, although there are a few things to keep in mind.
1. Selling enemy-dropped equipment and weapons can get pretty profitable. Assuming you've invested some points in Repair, this is a great way to make money. Be sure to keep a Utility uniform from Vault 101 as you will not find any +Repair items for a long time afterwards. This also helps by lessening the need to use repair services from vendors. Raiders at Super Mart and Springvale School drop a ton of stuff.
2. Quests pay out really well. In conjunction with doing quests like Moira's Wasteland Survival Guide quests to the Super Mart (tons of items and enemy drops), or Minefield (walk around disarming and collecting mines for 25 caps each). In addition to the cash gained from scavenging and looting, you get items and rewards from the quests themselves.
3. Your Barter skill will increase the money you receive for items and lower the costs of purchases. When dealing with vendors, wear +Barter or +Charisma gear to maximize cash back. Beer will also increase your Charisma by 1 point. Any other form of booze is worth more to you as something to sell. Early items that increase these skills are Lucas Simms' hat (+1 Charisma), or if you manage to kill any wandering merchants, they tend to wear +5 Barter coats and hats. Additionally, know where to sell. If you're nice to Gob in Moriarty's, he'll give you a significant discount and buy things at a much higher price than any other vendor early in the game. (Remember, it never pays to discriminate, kids.)
4. If you've focused on Luck (5 Luck or more) and can wait until Level 6, you can get the Fortune Finder perk, which lets you find more caps in random containers. Arguably better is Scrounger at level 8, which lets you find more ammunition, including rare ammunition. All ammo is weightless, so you can stockpile all of it and sell it when needed for a tidy profit.
bottle caps
In my opinion Fallout New Vegas is. In Fallout NV it is easier to make caps so you can buy better wepons and ammo. In Fallout 3 It's hard to make a lot of caps in the begining making it a slow start. But is you want to test your skills play Fallout 3.
You can sell your stuff. Or you can kill people to get it. :)
When you first come out of VAULT 101 you should head down to megaton. There should be a caravan there HE has the schematics for the schish kebob.BUT it costs 700 caps i repeat 700 caps. If you ask to sell almost everything you don't need it should amount to 600 to 650 caps so hurry because after maybe a couple days he'll be gone.
You can kill people and steal their stuff, and sell them. :)
You need 50 Sarsaparilla Star Caps to proceed to the next part of the quest.
because there more common than normal paper money
Snipers on Fallout 3All kinds of raiders have snipers across the wasteland. You have to kill them in order to get their sniper. There is also a hidden sniper which you can get immediately after leaving the vault. Directly behind Megaton, the first town you can enter after leaving the vault, there is a hollowed out rock. It can take a while to find because as far as I know there are no discernible landmarks for it. When you have your cursor on the rock, it will allow you to "open it" and the name will show it as "hollowed out rock". Inside is a sniper rifle, stealth boy, sniper rounds, a note, and I believe some caps.
Sorry, but there aren't any "cheats" in Fallout 3. There are, however mods for the PC version but that is all. Also, there are glitches to get more caps and such that can be counted as cheats if you want.
Cheats for Fallout 3Cheatmasters offers a reasonably good library of codes for use in the game, including some for glitchers that you can take advantage of. if you have a console go to youtube and type in scrap metal glitch that would be the only one for console gets you level up fast and 100k caps
PUZZLE in all caps!
No, but you can sell them for caps, and it has no weight; so you can hold as many as you want.
