Nothing is bad for you if used correctly. Morphine, if used frequently and in large amounts will have negative side effects. If used moderately and infrequently, the drug doesn't have many, if any negative side effects.

∙ 15y agoMorphine belongs to the family of opiates or pioids as they are called. Morphine is the most important opioid. It is commonly used as an analgisic. And it works by attaching itself to 3 specific receptors in the brain (m,k, d). It can cause mood changes, physical dependence which may lead to compulsive drug use.
Opioid drugs act in the CNS (Central Nervous System) including the spinal cord and the PNS (Peripheral Nervous System including the myenteric plexus and submucous plexus in the wall of the gut and one of their side effects is that they can cause severe constipation.

∙ 14y agoYes. Absolutely. Ingesting any kind of opiate while pregnant can certainly cause trouble, especially one as powerful as morphine (unarguably the most powerful available). Morphine contains sedative properties which will depress your breathing and heart rate, which is potentially extremely damaging to the fetus.
You should absolutely not take morphine while pregnant.
