According to Jesus true worship is 'in spirit and in truth' and thus does not relate to where we worship but how we worship.
The Holy Spirit is necessary, which thus excludes anyone who is not truly born again by the spirit of Christ. It is a spiritual worship and not a man made invention with man made rituals but involves the spirit of God with our spirit lifitn ourselves up to God in true worship and adoration.
The 'truth' part comes in in that if we don't believe what God tells us about Himself we thus dishonor Him and displease Him, grieving His Holy Spirit, which then hinders our true worship, since the Holy spirit is also called the Spirit of Truth. If we have grieved God or are in disobedience to Him and His word we cannot expect to be offering true worship which is acceptable to Him. It may indeed be ok with men and even with ourselves, but it will not be acceptable to God.
