The current produced depends on what else it's connected to. If the ends of the

thermocouple aren't connected to some kind of circuit, then no current flows.

Once current is flowing, it can be measured in the normal way, by a series

ammeter (milliameter, microammeter).

But thermocouples are not typically applied as current sources. They're typically

used as voltage sources, since their effective internal impedance is so high, which

is just another way of saying that if you try to get any current out of your thermocouple,

its entire activity will instantly dribble away to nothing.

What type of current is produced in a electric battery?

Direct current (DC) is produced by an electric battery. This type of current flows consistently in one direction from the positive terminal to the negative terminal of the battery.

What is the difference between the welding current produced by alternator and the one produced by a generators?

Alternators produce Direct Current, Generators produce Alternating Current. Todays' cars have Alternators to charge the batteries.

The ampere is a measure of electrical current. There is no electrical current in toner.

What is the smallest unit of measure for current?

There is only one unit of measure for current: the ampere. All currents are measured in amps or fractions of amps or their equivalent.

What is the definition of direct current?

(a) A current flowing in one direction only; -- distinguished from alternating current. When steady and not pulsating a direct current is often called a continuous current. (b) A direct induced current, or momentary current of the same direction as the inducing current, produced by stopping or removing the latter; also, a similar current produced by removal of a magnet.

Can you use the multimeter to measure the resistance of a resistor when there is current passing the resistor?

A: NO the only way is to lift one lead and measure.

When measuring current always place any type of meter in series with the circuit--is this true?

No. While it is true that one can measure current at any point in a circuit by breaking the circuit at that point and inserting the meter, not any meter will do it. One must use an ammeter to measure current.

Do you measure amps on 220 volt electric motor by measuring one line or both and combining total of the two?

In a single phase 220 volt electric motor just measure one line. That already represents your line current. That line current is equal to your total current circulating in your motor.

By one measure, a dollar in 1932 was worth about $17 in current dollars.

How can one measure photosynthesis at home?

One way to measure photosynthesis at home is by using a simple experiment with a plant, water, and a light source. By measuring the amount of oxygen produced by the plant during photosynthesis, you can indirectly measure the rate of photosynthesis. This can be done by collecting the oxygen bubbles released by the plant in a container and measuring the volume of gas produced over a period of time.
