How can some people call themselves polite and friendly if they say bad things about somebody who likes them and does not know them from adam isn't that selfish and uncalled for?

Polite and friendly does not always mean nice. There IS a difference. For example, kidnappers of children are known to lure children by being friendly, and sometimes polite, but they are NOT nice people.
