A: Yes it can but why ?

This is frequently done when the diode is used for biasing purposes on another transistor and must be matched identically to the transistor's E-B junction characteristics. Thus 2 matched transistors are used with one just being used as a diode.

How do you test the bipolar junction transistor?

through the used of multi-tester

Can fet be used as a transisitors?

No. The Field Effect Transistor is a different technology than the Bipolar Junction Transistor. That cannot substitute for one another.

Is a transistor a diode?

No.Di, or bi, means two. A diode, from the Greek di (two), and ode (path), has, rather obviously, two connections, which, in older ones (valves/thermionic diodes), were called electrodes.A transistor has three connections (so it would make, at least grammatic, sense to call it a triode).

Can you use transistor as diode?

its the simplest thing to do. There are three legs in a transistor, one each of collector, base and emitter. So if you need to use it as a diode, just connect either collector-base or emitter-base. Say, if you use an NPN transistor, then the base region will be the anode of diode and emitter or collector will be the cathode of the diode.

What is multi emitter transistor?

A bipolar junction transistor with 2 or more emitters. The most common use of these was in the input section of transistor transistor logic (TTL) gates. They offered significantly higher speed and used less area on the IC chip than the diodes used in the input section of the diode transistor logic (DTL) gates that came earlier. This made TTL ICs both faster and cheaper than the DTL ICs which soon became obsolete.

Which is better as a switch diode or transistor?

Basically a diode is a combinstion of pN junction but the transistor is made with three terminals EMITTER,, BASE ,, JUNCTION.. and diode is just a combination of positive and negative terminal . diode and transistors are both used as a switch .. but a transistor is more widly udes than a diode. and diode has also very important in electronics DIGITAL SYSTEM to make the screen's ..and transistors are used in amplifiers the group of transistors make an amplifier . and we use a diode in seven segment display ....diode is small and carry less current due to its small size but transistor get large current. A2 A diode has two connections. It allows current to flow in one direction and not in the other. They are used for rectification in power supplies, detection of AM radio, blocking of current etc. A Transistor has three connections. Current is controlled between the emitter and collector, by a small current on the base. They are used as switches, amplifiers and regulators.

What are PNP and NPN?

In most discrete bipolar junction transistors the substrate is the collector. In monolithic integrated circuits the bipolar junction transistors are electrically isolated from the substrate, either by reversed biased junctions or insulator (e.g. sapphire). Some older bipolar junction transistor types (usually made with germanium) the substrate is the base. In bipolar point contact transistors the substrate was the base.

Who is mostly used in the case of diode?

Is it pn junction diode used as voltage regulator?

zener diode

What is mean BFW11?

Its a Transistor used in JFET (Junction Field Effect Transistor)

What is FET?

FET is abbreviation of Field Effect Transistor. This is a transistor in which current is controlled by voltage only and no current is drawn. It is a high input impedence device and is used in computers, telecommunication and control circuits. This transistor is better in certain parameters as compared to BJT, that is Bipolar Junction Transistor.

What is ttl circuit?

A digital circuit composed of bipolar junction transistors (BJTs). Widely used in all variety of electronic applications, especially prior to CMOS circuits becoming popular, TTL superseded the earlier RTL (resistor-transistor) and DTL (diode-transistor) logic designs, which used more power. In TTL, transistors are used to both isolate inputs and perform the logic switching. A "TTL" designation on a circuit input or output indicates a digital circuit rather than analog.Read more: transistor-transistor-logic-electronics
