By lowering the use of fossil fuels. By using alternative resources (like Solar Energy and Biomass) we could save our earth from the harmful fossil fuels.
Fossil fuels by themselves do no harm to the environment. They have existed for millions of years. It is the burning of them that adds pollutants to the environment.
For the problems already happening due to fossil fuels little can be done. Carbon capture technologies are very limited in there scale of application. Even large scale techniques such as algae farms will put a very small dint in the effects. These techniques are only short term solutions and will never compensate for the rate of burning of fossil fuels.
So the only solution is to greatly reduce the use of fossil fuels. This means alternative energies must be used. Renewable sources are a great alternative for many applications, but the power requirements of large cities and industrial areas requires the use of nuclear power. Nuclear power is a safe and workable solution to global warming, since renewable energy solutions cannot meet all requirements of cities such as Beijing or Paris. Also modern technologies mean that nuclear power is ordinarily very safe. (The disaster of Chernobyl was a valuable experience in avoiding future stupidity.) As for the risk of the fuel being used for terrorist acts, the amount required for the creation of a nuclear weapon is fairly large. To purify the fuel enough to become an explosive requires technology only a few nations on Earth have, and these activities are heavily monitored.
Answer:
This requires the complete shutdown of the planet. All modern medicine, all transportation and all air conditioning and heating. This is an unworkable issue without millions dieing, which would create more CO2 as they decompose.
answer
We can substantially reduce our consumption of fossil fuels by investing in alternative energy sources, such as solar power, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric, nuclear power, tidal power, etc. Eventually we will have to do this as fossil fuel is a finite resource. The sooner we begin switching, the better, for a variety of reasons. One would be to reduce our trade deficit, and another is the environmental harm from burning fossil fuels.
To stop fossil fuel burning we must convince people the alternatives are better, while coming up with methods for discouraging the use of our irreplaceable resources.
Fossil fuels (natural gas, oil, coal, peat) are hydrocarbon fuels formed from ancient plant and animal materials. Pollutants (carbon dioxide, methane, particulates, nitrogen oxides, aromatic hydrocarbons, sulfur dioxides etc.) are released when the fuels are burned as a source of energy. These releases are implicated as the source of a number of environmental problems.
The pollution and its subsequent impact can be reduced or eliminated by:
Reducing the amount of fuel used
Reducing the amount of emissions produced
Using alternate energy sources
In addition:
Or, we could stop using them.
Scientists have to keep working hard on all kinds of alternative energy sources. Enough sunlight lands on the earth in one day to provide all our electricity needs for a year!
... can all be harnessed and harvested. We just need better and cheaper ways of collecting that energy.
The only current technology we have for the planets power needs outside of fossil fuel is that of nuclear. Working on greener technologies is a great idea in the hope it will someday become feasible. Building nuclear now would ensure ours needs will be met today with existing technology while we work on the other groups above.
Burning fossil fuels will always add to the environmental greenhouse effect with carbon dioxide emissions, we can't do anything about that.
The only other thing to do is to stop using them. If we can move to renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, biofuels and biomass) we can stop contributing to global warming.
To reduce the effect of fossil fuel burning, we must use alternative sources. Thermal energy is one.

When you burn fossil fuels to make enrgy, carbon dioxide is released. So, if you burn less fossil fuels, less carbon dioxide is released.
Not until burned.
Thermal energy
Fossil fuels are not bad for earth but he use of fossil fuels is bad.Use of fossil fuels emit large amount of pollution which cause global warming.
fossil fuels produce sulfur dioxide when burned because sulfur is present in them. things like coal which is carbon or gas which is a hydrocarbon are examples of this. fossil fuels are bad because sulfur dioxide causes acid rain. hope this helps :)
In a fossil fuel is different fuels that have been burned
Yes, that is the primary reason to use fossil fuels.
When fossil fuels are burned they give off heat, the reason why we use them. Then they give gasses such as CO2 for example.
war doesn't effect fossil fuels , but it does effect fossil fuel prices when a country that has large amount of fossil fuel reserves is politically unstable it will reduce the amount of fossil fuels that can be delivered from it , there by increasing the price since the law of supply states that the lower the supply the higher the price
They are burned
fuels are burned to release the chemical energy
When fossil fuels are burned, they release energy stored years ago.
When you burn fossil fuels to make enrgy, carbon dioxide is released. So, if you burn less fossil fuels, less carbon dioxide is released.
They are burned
Oxygen
Not until burned.
Most countries burn fossil fuels to generate electricity. If they used solar power to generate electricity, thenThey would not have to use so much fossil fuel.Solar Energy itself does not reduce the use of fossil fuels. But the use of solar energy should hopefully reduce the need of fossil fuels to create energy, so therefore the more we can use solar power as an energy source instead of fossil fuels, the more we reduce the use of fossil fuels.
