  • Find a place with a good difference between low and high tide.
  • build a dam that'll be empty at the low tide mark and full at the high tide mark
  • put a turbine in the dam wall
  • when the tide goes up, it'll flow in through the turbine and make electricity as it fills the dam
  • when the tide goes out, it'll flow out through the turbine making electricity as the dam is drained

Waves:

  • waves make things on the surface bob up & down
  • build something to turn that up & down into a movement that can turn a generator
  • stick it out into the ocean.
