All non-renewable energy sources produce some sort of pollution. For fossil fuels, the pollution is in the combustion emissions. In addition to CO2, other pollutants include nitrous oxides, sulfuric oxides, carbon monoxide, carbon particulate, and unburned hydrocarbons. Coal combustion also produces ash and heavy metals like Mercury. In the US and Europe, pollution controls minimize the release of most of these pollutants, but not all countries have strict environmental controls and standards. Nuclear power plants produce nuclear waste (spent fuel rods). Using renewable energy avoids the generation of these pollutants.

Why is renewable energy better for the society than non renewable energy?

Renewable energy means using the power of the sun, or the wind, or the movement of water in rivers and oceans to generate power. Once these power plants are established there are no emissions of carbon dioxide or any other pollutants. Non-renewable energy (from burning coal, oil and natural gas, mostly) releases vast amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere increasing our greenhouse gases and contributing to global warming and climate change. So renewable energy is much better for society than non-renewable energy.

What are the benefit's of using renewable energy technology?

Benefits to the planet:If we use renewable energy, then we can stop burning fossil fuels. This means that we stop adding greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide) to the atmosphere, and that the speed of global warming may be slowed.Benefits to the ordinary citizen:There are many benefits of using renewable energy to the ordinary citizen and business owner. Homeowners will reap rewards from using renewable energy and energy-efficient appliances by saving money in the long run and reducing environmental impacts. It also renders us able to fuel our homes independently in many cases. Using renewable fuels makes us less dependent. Small and large business owners will also reap the benefits of renewable energy. They will save money on utilities. Even providers of electricity can benefit from selling clean energy. There are also many job opportunities for professionals who can invent ways of using renewable energy easily and efficiently in our homes and businesses. The more products that are available the cheaper they will become, such as wind and solar renewable energy. Many states now offer tax incentives to those who are using or planning to install clean energy systems for lighting, heating and the running of appliances. The government wants to make it easier for consumers to make the switch to clean energy. This means that tax credits will enable you to reap the benefits of renewable energy. A variety of tax incentives are available for individuals and businesses who want to use green technology. The benefits of renewable energy installations range from tax waivers, credits, deductions and change in tax status. So not only will you save money in utilities you'll save on taxes too. What can humans do to save wind energy?

Wind energy is a form of renewable energy source. That means that it's a kind of energy that is 'produced' using natural methods (wind, solar, ocean waves) and can be renewed as more of that source is available. So, the more wind you can capture using, say, a wind turbine, the more energy you will have collected. Wind energy has a downside as a cause of noise and visual pollution since wind farms need specific sites to run. They are not completely reliable either, since they depend on the inconsistent nature of wind generated at any time.

What are the four R of pollution prevention?

The four 'R's of pollution prevention are Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover. This action plan can help individuals, businesses, and governments to reduce their environmental footprint, while conserving energy and resources. Reduce - This means to reduce the amount of materials used, such as choosing reusable containers over disposable ones and using smaller packaging. It also involves reducing energy use and emissions.Reuse - This involves finding ways to use products more than once, such as reusing bags and containers, donating clothes and furniture, and using refillable pens and markers. Recycle - This involves collecting, sorting and processing items, such as paper, plastic, glass, metal, and organic materials, so they can be made into new products. Recover - This involves recovering energy from waste, such as composting organic waste and burning combustible materials to generate electricity or heat. By utilizing the four 'R's of pollution prevention, we can help to protect our environment and conserve resources for future generations.

Why you should use renewable energy?

You should use renewable energy because it save the world by causing less pollution and it also saves us from using fossil fuels which produces the pollution.Thats why we should use less fossil fuels and more renewable energy :)

What are some environmental reasons for using non-renewable energy instead of fossil fuels?

Using renewable energy like wind , sun light and water movement will save the environment from air pollution , global warming "increasing the temperature of the earth "and co2 emission and these problem occur by using nonrenewable energy "fuel "

How do energy saving light bulbs reduce pollution?

Energy saving bulbs doesn't produce more heat compare to other bulbs. Therefore content of pollution is less by using the energy saving bulb. Even by using a vocca adapter to the normal bulb we can reduce the pollution. Vocca adapters are energy saving adapters. And also vocca adapter is a voice activated adapter.

How can using renewable resources reduce pollution?

because it is renewable that means it natural and can never run out. it can cause less pollution because it doesn't give out any once it is built. when people are building dams fr hydroelectricity they obviously cause allot of pollution because of the machinary and the fuel that is being used. however renewable enery doesn't create any pollution but building it does.

Is sunlight a renewable resource or non-renewable rescource?

They use a renewable source of energy. Most are constructed using non renewable resources.

Why is renewable energy the best source?

We shoud use renewable energy because it helps the earth by caussing less pollution.Today were using fossill fuels which causes pollution wich is bad for earth and us everywere you go their is more fossil fuels in use then renewable energy.Thats why we should use renewable energy.

What is defined as watee used as an energy source?

Using water as an energy source makes it a form of renewable energy. Using waste as an energy source is also renewable as the waste is being recycled.

Why is tidal power useful?

Tidal power is useful because it generates electricity that is renewable, free and non-polluting. So it is an excellent replacement for energy from fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) which is non-renewable, expensive and polluting (that is, causing global warming).

Why is hydrogen a renewable fuel?

Hydrogen is not a renewable fuel. It is a secondary energy source (or an energy carrier) that could be produced using another primary energy source. Hydrogen could be produced using either renewable primary energy source (e.g. solar energy), nuclear energy, or by using fossil fuel (e.g. natural gas)
