Locate and download carnevil rom versions 1.0.1(128 kb) and 1.0.3 (1.6 gb). You'll need both rom zip files to play the game. Place them in your ROM folder in the MAME directory, where ever you installed the program files.

∙ 10y agoMake sure you have both versions of the romset. Version 1.0.1 is 1 gigabyte, and version 1.0.3 is 128 kilobytes. It looks like that version 1.0.3 used the elements from the 1.0.1 romset to work. Drop both files in the rom folder.

How do you get CarnEvil to work have downloaded the rom and the chd files but it still won't work and they are both in a CarnEvil folder in the roms folder but still nothing?
you have to put the .chd file in a seprate folder and name it carnevil arrange the folders like this in the roms folder c: mame/roms/carnevil.zip c: mame/roms/carnevil/carnevil.chd hopefully you get it to run
